Linux has a wide variety of desktop options available to install. On most Linux distributions, you have the choice of multiple desktops by simply clicking the desktop you want to install from your package manager. Once installed, you log out and choose the new desktop from the login and start using it right away.




KDE KDE is a beautiful, modern desktop that can be used with the traditional desktop paradigm or it can be customized any other way you want.

Openbox is not a desktop, but a window manager. If you are into minimalism and don’t want all the features of a full desktop, this is a very lightweight way to deal with your windows.
